What we DO
The Child Development Administrative Assistant coordinates and administers functions relating to the effective and efficient operations of the Child Development Department and provides support services to the Child Development Director. They serve as a liaison for the Child Development Director and Child Development team including scheduling regular and special meetings, file organizing, assisting other staff members, and drafting correspondences or messages They provide support in preparing confidential correspondence and documents as directed by the Child Development Director. This position requires a high level of integrity and discretion, along with administrative experience, technical and writing skills, and frequently exercised independent judgment within an agreed-upon limit. The Assistant also uses computers extensively to work with complex data, creating agendas, formulating reports, and managing multiple databases.
Requirements
At least one year office experience
Reliable and highly organized, able to work under pressure, and accurate in record keeping abilities
Accurately type 50 WPM, strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, proficient in computer software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.), and Outlook
Interpersonal skills to work professionally and positively with parents, children, and staff
Able to operate general office machines and technology such as telephone, printer/scanner, and audio-visual equipment
