What we DO
Leads and manages Child Development Department child services programs, services, and systems to assure integrated, comprehensive Behavioral Health and Special Needs services to children and families. Plans, coordinates, and monitors special education programs, and behavioral health practices.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree In
Early Childhood Education/ Development
Special Education
Educational Administration
or
closely related field
Knowledge of special education for children birth through age 5
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and successfully with teams
Preferred:
Graduate degree in Early Childhood Education/Development, Special Education, Educational Administration or other closely related field
Two or more years of successful teaching experience with primary responsibility for a classroom of infants, toddlers and/or preschool
Knowledgeable and experienced working with Head Start, Early Head Start, and public or private pre-school agencies.
Demonstrated ability to identify and work with community resources
Three or more years of successful management and supervisory experience in a child care center, preschool or Head Start setting
Knowledge of early childhood instructional methods and training techniques including curriculum design principles, child and adult learning theory, group and individual teaching techniques, design of individual development plans, and outcomes assessment focusing on all domains of development
Knowledge of policies and practices involved in human resource management.
Knowledgeable about and skilled in the use computers and computer software programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and other software programs
