What we DO
Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in the assessment and treatment of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in an all inclusive preschool setting. Implement speech and language programs or activities as planned and directed by Certified Speech-Language Pathologists. Monitor the use of alternative communication devises and systems.
Requirements
Bachelor’s
degree IN
Speech-Communication
Speech-Language Pathology
or
Communication Disorders/ Speech Sciences
Preferred:
Pediatric experience within an educational program
Ability to work successfully with low-income families, community groups and staff
Minimum of 100 hours of school based practicum under the direction of an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist
Ability to successfully coordinate and manage multiple priorities
Ability to maintain confidential and privileged information
Colorado Department of Education authorization: School Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
Must become knowledgeable of the program’s policies, rules, and regulations with respect to the functions performed
